Miss Murray's School
Anybody remember Miss Murray's School in Wilson Street, off the upper end of Nelson Street? I started school there in about 1946 or 1947 and have many happy memories of Largs in those days.

I attended Miss Murray's from 1957 until 1963. I have very fond memories of this wonderful teacher who gave me a remarkable grounding in all necessary subjects. Being part of a one-room school also taught great confidence amongst the youngest and tolerance amongst the oldest of pupils. Every Friday we were encouraged to bring an object that we could talk about to the rest of the class. I owe my public speaking style and most of my best school memories to Miss Murray. Thank you for this chance to remember her.
Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
