Euromillionaires: "We love Largs!"

Euromillions winners Colin and Chris Weir have told The Herald that they love Largs.

Mrs Weir is reported on heraldscotland.com as saying: "We love the town we live in. We love where it is and the scenery. We love how it is beside the seaside. The ambience is beautiful."

And the Weirs have been putting their money where their mouths are, according to the paper, by splashing out on a series of major upgrades to their £850,000 home north of the town, applying for permission to add a pool house with spa, changing rooms and shows, and two conservatories.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Mr Weir had pledged £750,000 to help Largs Thistle clear debts and improve their facilities.

Other reports have claimed that the Weirs bought a fleet of cars from a Largs-based dealer, to give to friends and families. They also gave their old three-bedroom house in Largs to a neighbour, a teenage mum.
