Get ready for Largs' great Viking Festival
20 AugustThe Largs Viking Festival returns in a blaze of glory for its 30th anniversary from Saturday 28th August, with something for all the family.
A great programme of events is lined up for the Norse culture celebration and this year includes old favourites and some new features.
The RFA Largs Bay will provide an imposing sight on the local seafront over the first weekend with the opening day parade and official opening by BBC television presenter Sally Magnusson.
The world famous Largs Viking Festival takes place every year in Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland, as crowds gather from near and far to celebrate Viking heritage in Largs, notably the Battle of Largs 1263 (the last Viking invasion in the UK).
There are events for all the family throughout the week starting with the opening day parade, opening ceremony and various Viking activities. This year's highlight will be The YAK 52 Pair performing over largs bay and the RFA Largs Bay anchored just off the largs shore.
